Technology
The global version of Honda PCX comes with idling stop system, which automatically closes the machine after a few seconds of idle. This feature is not included in the AS/Canada model due to security issues, has a lethal switch and parking brake instead. To prevent excessive wear on a separate starter motor, the Honda PCX uses its alternator by supplying power to the stator (see Brushless DC electric motor). As a result, the engine's start is completely muted. This same technology was released in 2018 new Honda Goldwing.
Other 125/150 Honda Scooters with eSP share common engines with Honda PCX.
