The Nissan Elgrand (Japan: ?????????????> Nissan Erugurando ) is the largest full-size luxury MPV produced by Nissan Shatai for Nissan since 1997, available in three development models, E50, E51 and on 2010 E52. Elgrand is usually used by celebrities in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and several other countries around the world. In Japan, the cost of ownership is expensive because the exterior dimension has exceeded the Japanese Government's dimension regulations and engine displacement raises higher annual road tax liabilities. Elgrand's main competitors are Toyota Alphard/Toyota Vellfire, and Honda Odyssey, and sold as a bigger and more luxurious alternative to Nissan Lafesta.

The first generation Nissan Elgrand was produced from May 1997 to May 2002. Various combinations of engines are available including VG33E petrol, VQ35DE and QD32ETi diesel and ZD30DDTi. The E50 has a 4-speed automatic transmission and comes with a 2- or 4-wheel drive. The Caravan Elgrand is exclusive to the Nissan Bluebird Store , while Homy Elgrand is exclusive to Nissan Prince Store Japanese dealers. The caravan remains a vehicle of Nissan's commercial load, while Elgrand assumes passengers are carrying the task with increasing luxury. Top-level equipment packages are fitted with an internet satellite navigation called CarWings.

The E50 Eltim used is generally exported to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Russia, the UK, and earlier Philippines before the ban on import of right-handed vehicles. The Australian and New Zealand Clean Cruise Fleets include the E50 Elgrands.

The second generation E51 Elgrand was launched in May 2002 and mainly competed with Toyota Alphard and Honda Elysion.
Initial release
The model specifications are V V, X XL, with subsequent releases including Highway Star and Rider versions - the bottom specification model is V, while the top specification vehicle is XL, with full leather interior.
The Rider has two variations including the Autech Tuned Nismo version.
XL E51 is a top-end model in the Elgrand range.
Innovation
Options for E51 include some great innovations, first there is CARWINGS technology, which includes GPS tracking/location system. But in addition to this is the innovation of reversing the camera by changing the guide lines, track control and assisted braking. This is an additional feature in 2002 for the upscale Nissan vehicles. In 2008 there was further innovation in the form of a 4 camera display technology that gave the air rotation look when backing off. Other innovations include: voice-activated controls, BOSE Audio or 5.1 channel surround sound audio system, voice-activated voice dialing and satellite-controlled clocks.
Note - it is not possible to reset the internal clock in the E51 with the monitor because it has a permanent satellite connection to a geostationary satellite which only gives Japanese timing signals. The clock accuracy is amazing, but regardless of where you are in the world, it will always be true for local Japanese time.

Windshield: There are several available windshield options, ranging from standard compatibility, to water repellents, laser engraved, colored screens. The waterproof screen has a holographic sticker to identify this additional option.
Nissan Elgrand, Autech Elgrand Enchante (2002 -)
The JDM model went on sale in 2002-05-21. Nissan Elgrand's early models include XL, X, VG (4/5-door), V, and Highway Star. Elgrand Enchant's early models included VG, V, and Highway Star. All model ranges can be configured with a removable second row seat or Step Type.
ELgrand XL
This is the top of the range model, with many additional options installed as standard. It comes with a leather 7-seater interior, 8 speaker sound system, which includes Sony MiniDISC, keyless entries, carwings, reversing cameras, two TV screens, wing fold mirrors and heated driver and passenger seats.
From the full reach of Elgrand, this is also the heaviest coming in at 2.2 Ton. The rider version became the lightest version because it was originally regarded as a sports model, so many additional features were removed because it reduced the weight/power ratio for vehicles.
Elgrand Rider (2002 -)
The Rider is a version of the 5-door Elgrand VG with front bumper, billet grille, front fog lamp, side side shield, rear bottom shield, top rear combination lamp (clear type), rear winker finisher, clear side lamp turn, front cutting grade class (with top shade), floor chair (in leather), floor trim door, 3 seating armrest, leather wrapped texture 4-spoke steering wheel, leather wrapped texture rock shift knob instrument, finisher texture rock, loudspeaker system (MD/CD integrated AM/FM electronic radio tuner, 6 speakers and superwoofer), 17 inch aluminum wheels, 215/60R17 tires, large diameter sport muffler by Fujitsubo, low suspension, and 3 color options body; white pearl (3-coat pearl # QX1), diamond silver metallic (# KY0), black (# KH3; Rider), and interior color of ecru (S).
The Japanese model went on sale on 2002-10-02.

VG version L, Highway Star version L (2002-2003)
The VG L and Highway Star versions of L are Nissan Elgrand VG and Highway Star respectively, commemorating the sale of 250000 units of Nissan Elgrand in Japan since May 1997. Changes include DVD TV Carwings/navigation system, 2 Smart Keys (driver side), side passenger, rear door sensor), rear-view camera with wide car and display distance (color), super sound system Elgrand and 6 speakers (MD/CD integrated AM/FM electronic radio tuner, 160W, MD/CD auto changer connection), control steering wheel for audio, voice commands, and hands-free phones, a choice of 3 body colors: metallic silver titan champagne, white pearl (3 pearl layers), black/metallic silver luster in VG version L; white pearl (3-coat pearl), metal metallic sword, silver metal diamond on L's version of Highway Star.

Updates Elgrand Highway Star, Elgrand Enchante front row passenger Seat Type Lift ( 2003 -)
Changes to the Elgrand Highway Star include a fully layered front grille, chrome-colored aluminum street lining, fog lamps surrounding body color, black steering wheel, cross-sectional strips of Jacquard black material flooring, black leather button shift section, instrument panel control panel center cluster in dark gray. New options include driver driver's automatic sliding door for smart lock model, leather or Supplare (from Elgrand X) - plated seat.
Elgrand Enchant
Elgrand Enchant took the 8-passenger version of Elgrand V, VG, Highway Star, and X, and added a mobility access seat in the second row.
