The Portland Alley Sweeper , also called Alley Sweeper Urban Enduro, is a motorcycle rally in Portland city hallway, Oregon. Started in 2009 by Zac Christensen from the Froid Riding Club motorcycle club in Portland, this rally is described as a "broken city road trip on a damaged side of the road in Portland in any way a two-wheeled vehicle you can live with", traveling around 300 riders a year.
The event organizers said by driving a legal two-wheeled vehicle in city streets, they just used their right on a public road and said it was "not a race but a parade". Opponents say they are concerned about child safety and some even say they "hostage on their own page" for a one-hour rally duration. One resident said that motorcycles and double-powered motorcycles, mostly small-capacity "sound like tanks".
Portland police say rally drivers are allowed in the alleys if they obey the speed limit of 15 miles per hour (24 km/h), and other traffic regulations.
