New York Radio Mets Network , referred to the air as Radio Mets Network Driven by Your TriHonda Dealer , is a radio network owned by iHeartMedia that broadcasts baseball New York Mets matches. It consists of 14 stations (12A.M., 2 F.M. and 1 F.M. translator) in the states of Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, & amp; New York. Spanish broadcasts broadcast separately from English-language networks.
The English flagship is WORLD, which acquired the radio rights for the Mets during the 2013 offseason. The Mets had previously aired their matches at WFAN since the station was established in 1987, and factored in the station's predecessor dates back to 1983. The relationship with WFAN ended after the 2013 season when the station acquired radio rights to the New York Yankees of its WCBS brothers. Mets' move to WORC made the first professional team team from now on Nets Brooklyn to show his game at the station; The Nets, together with those who then hijabed in the New Jersey Devils, were picked up by WFAN after the loss of station broadcast rights for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers in 2004. WEPN is the Spanish flagship.
Howie Rose and Josh Lewin took turns playing-by-play and color comments on the broadcast, with Wayne Randazzo serving as pre-match and post-game host. Ed Coleman previously hosted a pre-match and post-match event, called Mets Extra by WFAN, and serves as a substitute announcer when necessary (usually for Lewin, who in addition to his job Mets is the radio voice of the Filler San Diego and was forced to miss a weekend game in September to fulfill these tasks). However, in January 2014 it was announced that Coleman would not be part of the WOR broadcast as he had been employed by WFAN from the start. (Although WFAN personality Chris Carlin (who is no longer employed by WFAN) and Marc Malusis has been heard on WOR through a broadcast of Rutgers University sporting event, WOR does not produce Rutgers games and is an affiliate of his radio network.)
