KYMCO or Kwang Yang Motor Co., Ltd. (Chinese: ???? ; pinyin: < span lang = "zh-Latn-pinyin"> Gu? ng YÃÆ'áng G? ng YÃÆ'è ), is a Taiwanese company that produces motor scooter, motorcycle, and ATV for worldwide distribution. Established in 1963 after being separated from Honda, KYMCO initially made components for Honda. The company built its first complete scooter in 1970 and started marketing under the brand name "KYMCO" in 1992. In the 2000s, Kymco became the largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan, and the fifth largest scooter manufacturer worldwide. KYMCO headquarters and factory are located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, with about 3000 employees, and produce more than 570,000 vehicles per year. The company has production facilities in Jakarta, Petaling Jaya, Shanghai, Changsha and Chengdu.
In early 2008, KYMCO was selected by BMW to supply engines for their Enduro G450 X bikes. The optional range extender in the BMW i3 is also supplied by Kymco.
At the end of 2013, Kawasaki announced that their new J300 scooter was produced in partnership with Kymco. It is based on 300i Kymco Downtown.

Kymco's product line in the United States includes 15 scooters, 9 ATVs and Venox 250 cruisers and 125 k-pipe motorcycles. Kymco USA Inc. is headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina with approximately 600 dealers. Kymco since 2009 is the Official Scooter and ATV for NHRA and with main sponsor Gray Motorsports from 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
