The Honda NSX , marketed in North America as Acura NSX , is a two-seat, mid-engine sports car manufactured by Honda/Acura.

The origins of the NSX trace back to 1984, with the concept of HP-X (Honda Pininfarina eXperimental), which is a rear-engined 3.0 V6 engine-engined sports car engine. Honda is committed to this project, with a view to meeting or exceeding the performance of the V8-engined line of Ferraris, while offering a lower reliability and price point. This concept then evolves and its name is changed to NS-X , which means " N ew", " S portscar" "e X perimental ", even though the production model was launched as NSX .

Generasi pertama (1990-2005)

(NA1/NA2)

NSX was designed by a team led by Chief Designer, Masahito Nakano, and Chief Engineer Executive, Shigeru Uehara. It benefits from advanced aerodynamics and styles inspired by the F-16 fighter jet cockpit and input from Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna during the final development stage.

NSX became the first mass-produced car in the world featuring a body made entirely of aluminum. It is powered by a 3.0-L all-aluminum V6 engine, featuring Honda VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system developed in 1980, a manual 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic Sports Shift.

It was exhibited at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show and built in a specially made factory in Japan, for sale starting in 1990. It was originally available as a coupà © and, from 1995, an upper targa. It experienced a performance boost in 1997, which saw the advent of a larger 3.2 V6 L engine, and a facelift in 2002 before it was discontinued in 2005. The North American model is sold as Acura NSX.

In December 2007, Honda announced plans to launch a NSX replacement in 2010, based on the Asus V10 engined Acura ASCC style (Advanced Sports Car Concept). Although the prototype was being tested for production, just a year later, Honda announced that the plan had been canceled due to poor economic conditions. Instead, in March 2010, Honda launched HSV-010 GT to participate in the Japanese SuperGT Championship. This car never reached production as a street-legal car.

Reports that Honda is again developing a replacement for the NSX that reappeared in April 2011. In December 2011, Honda officially announced the second generation NSX concept, which was launched the following month at the 2012 North American International Auto Show as the Acura NSX Concept.

The production model is shown three years later in the 2015 American American International Auto Show, for sale in 2016. Although its original name is preserved, this time is defined as " N ew S port e < b> X perience ". Unlike the first generation NSX produced in Japan, the new NSX was designed and engineered in Marysville, Ohio, at the Honda plant, by designer Michelle Christensen and chief engineer Ted Klaus.

The new NSX is a hybrid sports car powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine and three electric motors, two of which are part of the SH-AWD drivetrain "all steering wheel", all of which are capable of close to 600 hp. The transmission is a 9-speed semi-automatic dual clutch. His body uses aerospace design, made of aluminum, very high-strength steel, and other rigid and lightweight materials, some of which are the world's first applications.

The first production vehicle with VIN # 001 was auctioned off by Barrett Jackson on January 29, 2016. NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick won an auction with a bid of US $ 1,200,000. The entire offer was donated to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground. The first NSX was launched in Ohio on May 27, 2016. Hendrick was there to drive it. The first new NSX sales in the US are registered in June 2016.
