The Honda Center (formerly known as Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim ) is an indoor arena located in Anaheim, California. The arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League.
Originally named Anaheim Arena during construction, it was completed in 1993 at a cost of US $ 123 million. Arrowhead Water paid $ 15 million for naming rights for more than 10 years in October 1993. Within a short time between the awarding of the Mighty Duck and the naming of rights with Arrowhead, Disney referred to the Arena as Pond of Anaheim . In October 2006, Honda paid $ 60 million for naming rights for over 15 years.

History
Arena opened on June 19, 1993, with Barry Manilow concert as the first show. Since then, has hosted a number of events, such as Final Stanley Cup 2003 and 2007. On June 6, 2007, Anaheim Ducks defeated Ottawa Senators, 6-2, in the fifth game of the Honda Center for the first championship of the Stanley Cup franchise.
Honda Center has hosted several UFC events, starting with UFC 59 in 2006. It hosted the IBF World Championships 2005 for badminton in 2005.
From 1994 to 1998, it served as the second home for the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers. It was the home arena for Anaheim Bullfrog of Roller Hockey International from 1994 to 1999 and for Piranha Anaheim from the Arena Football League from 1996 to 1997.
The Arena also hosts a PBR Bud Light Cup (later Built Ford Tough Series) event every year since 1998. Since 1994, the arena has hosted the annual John R. Wooden Classic.
In 2011, the arena began hosting the Men's Big West Conference tournament and Women's Basketball. The Arena also hosts the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament six times, as a Regional West site - 1998, 2001, 2003, 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2016. Even the host of the Frozen Four, semi-finals and finals of the NCAA Ice Hockey Son of the Championship, on in 1999, underscoring the popularity of hockey in the region.
On December 6, 2000, music legend Tina Turner played her last concert in the arena to break the record of Twenty Four Seven Tour, but after popular demand, Turner returned to the arena before a sellout crowd on October 14, 2008, for her Tina! : 50th Anniversary Tour.
The Honda Center is located northeast of California State Route 57 of Angel Stadium (where Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim play) and about 3 miles (4.8 km) from Disneyland Park. It is also across the street from the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center with services by Amtrak ( Pacific Surfliner ), Metrolink ( Orange County Line), Anaheim Resort Transit, Orange County Transportation Authority and private transportation companies.
The Arena has 17,174 for its main tenant, Duck. It takes just five hours to turn the Honda Center from the sports arena to an 8,400-seater amphitheater. There are 84 luxurious suites in the building, which have housed 17.5 million people, in 2003. In 2005, the arena became the first in the US to have two full 360 degree ribbon views. Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, designs, manufactures and installs 1,800ft (550m) colorful LED technology. Outside the venue, the tent was upgraded with two large 8 foot (2.4 m) large video screens with 21 feet (6.4 m), and a new tent built with more LED video displays.
Broadcom chairman Henry Samueli owns the company that operates the arena, Anaheim Arena Management, LLC, and the main tenant of the arena, Duck, gives him great flexibility in scheduling events and recruiting new tenants. Samueli hopes to bring the NBA team into the arena. In 2015, Samueli buys the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League and, with the AHL incarnation of Admirals moving to San Diego to become a reactivated San Diego Gulls, it is thought that Samueli through Anaheim Arena Management will buy Valley View Casino Center in the city in time to AHL season 2015-16. During NHL Season 2014-2015, it was announced that the Honda Center will get a new scoreboard that will replace the existing scoreboard since it opened in 1993. The new scorers debuted in the Ducks Preseason game against the Los Angeles Kings.
