Dealers located on Van Ness Street and Bush Avenue, have been equipment there for decades until the late 2000s. The company was founded in 1939. In 1952 began selling new Chevrolet cars. Marie Brooks took over the company after her husband became ill and died.

Initial years

In the 1930s, probably around 1936, Ellis Brooks began with his partner Louis Cuneo. Their dealers are called Brooks & amp; Cuneo is located at 815 Van Ness ave and 74 12 streets. Brooks is a Rio dealer and later became a Hudson dealer. Around 1950, Ellis's San Francisco based in Hudson HQ owns Dan Albee as an assistant sales manager staff. Tony Mistlin started there in 1948 and that will eventually work until the sales manager finally gets his own start and in later years ends up with the biggest Honda dealer in Northern California.

Termination of new car sales

Announced in the November 23, 2008 edition of American City Business Journals that on December 15 of that year, dealers will stop selling new cars. This means that 45 people working in the service department and department will lose their jobs. Two reasons given are the rising costs of doing business in San Francisco and union retirement funds that are said to be a burden. The president of the dealer at the time was Marie Brooks. He said that the economic challenges are difficult for domestic car dealers.

Next year

In February 2010, Wheego Electric Cars announced that it had signed the Ellis Brooks Auto Center as its dealer. Dealers have been granted exclusive rights to sell Wheego electric cars exclusively throughout the San Francisco Bay area, California. Other areas include San Mateo, Santa Cruz etc. In 2011, the company moved to its new location at 1565 Bush Street, San Francisco, California. In 2012, this site is a combination of Nissan and Infiniti dealers. For years the building owner, Marie Brooks declined the offer, but eventually made a deal with Roger Penske. In February 2013, when the center wanted to celebrate its 75th birthday that year, they received a phone call aimed at Nunavut Arctic College. It appears as a result of the college that has a phone number on their website listed as 1-866-797-7222 instead of 1-866-979-7222. The next morning the error was corrected.

The original road corner now has car dealers and cafes among other buildings. The main facility specializes in used cars
