Histori
The school was originally opened in 1914 on the site of McLane Middle School today. In 1972, the school moved to its current location on Victoria Street in Brandon. The color of the school is maroon and white. The school's mascot is the Eagle. Brandon High is currently awaiting school on a secondary school SDHC assessment scale. School has got Blue Ribbon School status.

Wrestling team
Brandon's wrestling team holds the national record for the longest winning streak (34 years, 459 victories) by high school sports teams. The series ended on January 5, 2008, when Brandon was defeated by South Dade High School 32-28.
Soccer
Brandon High Boys won the state championship in 2003.

Brandon High School Universe preserves
This approximately 1.5 hectares (6,100 m) forest site located on the south side of the campus was designated as the official Botanical Gardens Habitat in 2006 by the National Wildlife Federation. Student ecology helps collect data of animals and plants each year using a variety of tools and technologies including GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) and digital camera receivers.
They also built nesting boxes for birds and boxes for bats to help improve biodiversity in the area. Many other classes use this area as open classrooms, including art, English, performing arts, and technology.
