Histori
In 1929, US Army Air Corps Colonel John A. Macready worked with Bausch & amp; Lomb, Rochester, a manufacturer of medical equipment based in New York, to create aviation flight goggles that will reduce interference to pilots caused by intense blue and white colors from the sky. In particular, MacCready worries about how the pilot's glasses will be foggy, greatly reducing visibility at altitude. The prototype, created in 1936 and known as 'Anti-Glare', has a plastic frame and a green lens that can cut the glare without blurring the vision. They also added an impact-resistant lens in 1938. The sunglasses were redesigned with a metal frame the following year and patented as Ray-Ban Aviator. According to the BBC, glasses use "Kalichrome lenses designed to sharpen detail and minimize the fog by filtering out blue light, making it ideal for foggy conditions."
In 1999, Bausch's Global Eyewear Division & amp; Lomb, including Ray-Ban was acquired by Luxottica Group for US $ 640 million.

The most popular Ray-Ban sunglasses are Wayfarer models, and Aviator. During the 1950s, Ray-Ban released Echelon (Caravan), which has a squarer frame. In 1965, Olympians I and II were introduced; they became popular when Peter Fonda wore them in the 1969 Easy Rider movie. The company has also produced special edition lines, such as The General in 1987, in common with the original airmen imposed by General Douglas MacArthur during the Second World War.
